The Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, your mission is to enhance the availability, scalability, and security of our production systems. You will play a pivotal role in Smadex’s evolution by optimizing our cloud-native infrastructure, ensuring our global platform remains resilient and high-performing as we scale our multi-region operations.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Evolution: Design and implement the future infrastructure that will elevate Smadex to the next level in terms of performance and reliability.
  • Ownership: Embrace the “You build it, you run it” philosophy—take full ownership of your code from design to production, including testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Cloud Management: Deploy and manage applications across multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Oracle Cloud), ensuring seamless integration and high performance.
  • System Reliability: Ensure the high availability, massive scalability, and robust security of all production systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and system enhancements.
  • Incident Management: Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure issues to maintain our <100ms response time standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure all systems adhere to strict security and compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related infrastructure field.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Cloud Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of AWS (primary), with additional experience in other cloud providers such as GCP or Oracle Cloud.
  • Infrastructure Strategy: Strong experience managing and migrating applications using diverse cloud-based architectures.
  • OS & Containers: Deep knowledge of Linux servers and extensive experience with containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced proficiency with automation and configuration tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Development: Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash to automate repetitive tasks and build internal tooling.
  • CI/CD: Deep experience in building and maintaining robust pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
